La “observación de aves” es una actividad que viene desarrollándose en muchos lugares del mundo, en el Perú la ruta mejor desarrollada es la del sur, abarca los departamentos de Cusco y Madre de Dios donde iniciativas particulares han implementado este tipo especial de turismo, la necesidad del desarrollo de inversión para gestionar establecimientos para alojamiento, capacitación a operadores turísticos, guías especializados, guías locales, transportistas, empresarios de restaurantes, artesanos, entre otros, es fundamental para brindar servicios de calidad. En tal sentido la presente guía es uno de los primeros pasos para consolidar las rutas de observación de aves en el departamento de Cajamarca, acá se resume información relevante sobre los puntos de interés para esta actividad que incluyen las especies representativas en cada uno de ellos, con su respectivo nombre científico y común en español e ingles, rutas de acceso y los atractivos turísticos asociados; en esta edición empezaremos con la ruta Sur correspondiente a las provincias de Contumazá, San Pablo, San Miguel, Cajamarca, San Marcos, Cajabamba y Celendín.

Due to its geographical characteristics, environmental conditions and isolation the birds present in this place are very appreciated by many bird watchers, here you can see:Yellow-faced Parrotlet, Chestnut-backed Thornbird, Gray-winged Inca-Finch, Buff-bridled Inca-Finch, Black-necked Woodpecker, Spot-throated Hummingbird, White-winged Black-Tyrant, among others.
